Duncan Compassion Healthcare Clinic

Best exemplifying the "Spirit of Duncan," this nonprofit benevolent clinic is operated by the Chisholm Trail Church of Christ. All services are free of charge to indigent patients and run solely by volunteers. Over 200 citizen volunteers include 12 primary care physicians, 3 specialists, 9 dentists, 1 periodontist, 1 optometrist, 1 optician, 75 nursing personnel, 3 lab technicians, 3 transcriptionists and 3 counselors.

Assisted living affords elderly citizens an alternative in the continuum of care which preserves their right to choose and promotes independence, individuality and dignity.

Stephens County Volunteers for Crisis Intervention

  • 24-hour crisis line (580 252-4357); callers can discuss their concerns with a trained advocate.  All conversations and services are strictly confidential.
  • Crisis Intervention—working with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, giving them alternatives, and making them aware of resources.
  • Emergency Shelter—For abused women and their children.
  • Hospital Advocacy—giving support during emergency room examinations.
  • Courthouse Advocacy—Providing assistance and moral support to clients who need the legal system, walking clients through the process of obtaining a Victim’s Protective Order, and having support when clients are involved in prosecution, divorce, and custody proceedings.
  • Counseling—Providing one-on-one and group counseling for clients.
  • Cell Phones—Providing cell phones to victims of domestic abuse who qualify.
